Are you a paediatric trainee? Interested to widen your horizons on paediatric drug development?

We are delighted to put out a call to invite European paediatric trainees to join the Children’s Medicines Working Party (CMWP) of the European Forum for Good Clinical Practice (EFGCP). The role provides experience in paediatric drug and device development through exposure to industry, academic, and regulatory perspectives on the design and conduct of, and policy related to, paediatric clinical trials.

EFGCP is the leading European multi-stakeholder forum where science, quality and ethics meet to promote Good Clinical Practice in clinical research and development. We are a non-profit organisation established by and for individuals with a professional involvement in making medicines and medical devices available to patients. The EFGCP’s Children’s Medicines Working Party (CMWP) promotes the highest scientific, ethical, safety, and quality standards for the design, conduct, and analysis of biomedical research and medicines development for children of all ages.

We are driven to bring the views and passion of emerging paediatricians into the world of paediatric drug development, bridging the needs of children and their families and the regulatory requirements, promoting ethical patient centred research into innovative medicines.

The CMWP meets once a month remotely for 1.5 hours and the members are expected to contribute to a number of EFGCP projects , for further details please see https://lnkd.in/e49mtNcM
Terms of reference :
– The appointment is open to paediatric residents/registrars within a recognised national paediatric training rotation in Europe.
– Appointment to be limited to trainees with at least one full year of paediatric training completed and also have 2 years remaining of their training.
– Duration of appointment – 2 years
– Desirable but not essential criteria for appointment:
– Affiliation with Paediatric society
– Qualification or research in drug development
– Renumeration: None
– Waiver of EFGCP membership annual fees for duration of appointment
– Offer of a slot for presentation at the annual paediatric EFGCP conference with waiver of attendance fees

We will review all applications and suitable candidates will be invited to short remote interviews with a panel of CMWP members. The selected candidate will be adopted as a member by the CMWP with start of their term envisioned to be by Spring 2026 (subject to agreement arrangements)
